GLO INTRODUCES Glo App Store



Globacom has launched its Glo App store, a service designed to provide access to Glo subscribers who wishes to make online purchases of Apps that will help them utilize their phones better for both work and play.
The Glo App store is the first in the country to cater for a broad spectrum of customers using devices on Android, Symbian, and Java platforms. This
 means that Glo subscribers can now use their Blackberry, Android and WAP-enabled phones to download, very cool apps that will enhance their connectivity in the areas of social networking, social messaging and productivity.

According to Globacom’s Head of Value Added Services, Samson Isa, Glo Foray into the mobile content and applications space was to provide more choices for its subscribers and deliver more value to them in line with its commitment to innovation and understanding service delivery.
“The Glo App Store allows the subscribers o browse all available applications directly from their mobile phones. Within the store, they will be able to find and download the latest applications for games, lifestyle, health, weather, travels, sports, players’ photos, finance, entertainment, and education”, he said.
The Glo App Store has also eradicated the problem of foreign exchange sourcing for payments as subscribers can pay for their app purchase with the balance on their phones, and only have to top up with naira if the credit card was insufficient. Apps in the store cost between N50 and N00 to download while over 1,000 applications are also available free of charge.
“The Glo App Store has also opened a vista of opportunity for indigenous technology software and app developers who now have the chance to design and sell their applications taking advantage of the Glo App Store”, Isa added.
Glo pp Store was developed by Infindo, a leading mobile application store provider and it requires the subscriber’s email address to access the download link.
